Starship Orbital Launch Intern - Jan-May 2021 - Hawthorne, CA
As a member of the Development Test team, I designed and operated test stands for qualification and activation of SpaceX components and systems.

Projects Included:
>  Human Landing System (HLS): a test stand for qualifying lunar landing legs
>  Starlink: a qualification test stand for the next-generation user terminal
>  Starship: actuators for an orbital booster qualification test stand
Technical Skills Acquired:
>  Structural analysis of large weldments using hand calculations and FEA, covering failure modes including weld failure, plate bending, and fastener failure.
>  Parametric modeling in top-level assemblies using Siemens NX.
>  Data acquisition using thermocouples and pressure transducers.
>  Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing drawings in compliance with ASME Y14.5-2009.

Project Management Skills Acquired:
>  Preparing and presenting formal design reviews to a board of stakeholders.
>  Working cross-functionally on projects spanning multiple teams and locations, including Seattle, WA and Boca Chica, TX.
>  Communicating with vendors on design specifications, lead times, and manufacturing methods.
>  Documenting project methods, design decisions, records, and future points of contact.
>  Outlining concept of operations (CONOPS) for system setup, operation, breakdown, and long-term-storage.
